Opulous is a project for the issuance and sale of NFTs. Unlike other NFT projects, it's not focused on artwork but on popular music streamed on Spotify, Apple music etc. An artist decides to monetise future royalty payments by selling split-up parts of the revenues/rights in a fractionalised NFT. Fans can buy these and receive royalty payments and support their favorite artists without being part of the music industry - a historical first. Also, artists no longer have to rely on royalty advances from publishers to monetise their work - which has been a historically poor option. This builds a direct social and economic relationship with music artists, their fans and supporters - cutting out the legacy middlemen of the legacy industry publishers. Royalties are paid from the streaming revenues to owners of the NFTs for that release.
